We have an application that is running on 2 Terminal Servers using Windows 2008 32 bit. Whenever a Windows 8 or 8.1 client connects to either of these Terminal Servers and attempts to print a report, it crashes the print spooler. Is there a version of the new RDP client that can be installed on our terminal servers? We use the RDP client to "bring" printers from the client machine to the terminal servers.
When the spoolers crash, anyone with an active session on that terminal server "looses" their printers. I have a standard task that restarts the print spooler when the appropriate error and event is logged, but it can't fire quickly enough sometimes.
