Hi. Hoping someone can help. Configuring a remote app farm to deliver our application to users all around the country via remote app.
Environment:
3 x physical servers and DAS with failover clustering (hyperv) in place hosting a bunch of Server 2012 r2 VMs.
VMs in question:
1 x VM DC running RDGateway and Web Access
2 x VMs Connection Broker in High Availability
1 x VM Session Host (many more to come)
2 x VMs SQL Failover for Connection Broker High Availability database
PROBLEM:
After the Remote Desktop Services and High Availability are configured all works fine. Testing the SQL cluster (by shutting down one SQL server) works. Testing Connection Broker High Availability (by shutting down one CB VM) works.
Then I shut all the VMs down and started them all back up, and could not connect via remote app any longer. Error:
Remote Desktop Disconnected.
This computer can't connect to the remote computer.
Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network
administrator.
Restarted VMs again, restarted Remote Desktop services. Reinstalled Connection Broker role on both and reconfigured High Availability. Not working. Reinstalled Session Host role on SH server. Nothing worked.
There is a remote session hung that will not allow log off or disconnection. The only way to get this working was to uninstall all Remote Desktop roles from RDGateway, CBs and SHs and recreate the whole Remote Desktop Services from scratch.
Further testing in the same way broke it again. Any idea why this is happening?
