is this possible using rdweb?

currently using RDS2012 R2 for RemoteApp provisioning in LB scenario.

Have a request for providing Remote Session based Desktop access.

Created a test RDS for testing because don't want to take a chance and create a new collection for Desktop publishing on a production deployment.

Did first connection to the new collection on a new deployment and have couple of questions to people who uses Session Based Desktop.

1. Does UPD works properly? I don't use it in my RemoteApp deployment (just no need for it).

If I understand correctly: all user profile things will be stored on a network Share. User can be connected to any RDSH in the collection and will always get his profile related stuff/configuration.

2. What about user experience?

Can I put shortcuts to All Users Desktop folder in order to provide icon placement?

Does somebody use Start screen instead of Desktop? Any tips for practical use?

3. ... the last one. For me it looks like a fantasy :) (knowing all the mines about remoteapp shortcuts placement)... but I will ask.

After showing to coworker Remote Desktop Icon appearance in browser's RDWEB page, he asked me a question:

a) is it possible to run this icon link out of a browser, meaning to get this shortcut and place it, let say on a Desktop.

b) and further... if the a) is possible, can we place this shortcut to Startup for allowing  Remote Session start on user login.

I don't believe that it is doable... But may be yes.

4. Any valuable info on using Session Based Desktop

Thanks.
