I'm working on a client that needs the Administrative Tools folder removed from the start menu (includes the folder that sits in the same section as "Security" and "Computer", right above the logoff button).
The client will not let me modify their Domain GPO and to my knowledge, Group Policy preferences relies on it (and it doesn't affect Anonymous users anyway). How can I remove this option from the anonymous users view? I tried editing the registry at
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\StartMenuAdminTools (set this value to 0)
for the default user profile but to no success.
Overworked IT guy who's seriously wondering if he should have been born on Krypton.
