RDS 2008R2 - User Profiles not deleted at logoff

Hi Everybody

I have a problem that I have been working on for a little while.

The problem is that User Profiles aren't removed completely at log off. This means that new .000 .001 etc. will be crated as users logs on again.
This gives various problems like for example Outlook 2010 where you are not able to share you calendar if this happens. It doesn't happen for all users.

The setup is as follows:

- 3 Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Servers.
- Roaming profiles are used.

What I found out is that the following directory and files are left behind at log off
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp\3 containing the following files:
~FP29CF.TTF,~FP29F1.TTF,~FP39BB.TTF,~FP39CD.TTF,~FP740B.TTF,~FP741D.TTF,~FP892C.TTF,~FP893E.TTF,~FP9BE0.TTF,~FP9BE2.TTF,~FPA311.TTF,~FPA323.TTF,~FPE287.TTF,~FPE289.TTF,~FPEBCA.TTF,~FPEBDB.TTF

This if the files that doesn't get deleted at log off. If I try to delete them I get a message saying "The action can't be completed because the file is open in System".

If I use tools like Process Monitor or Process Explorer, I can see that when I try do delete one of the files, it's locked by System process PID 4.

If I restart the server I'm able to delete the files. But this doesn't delete automatically and the users gets, at new .00x profile when they login again.

I installed the hotfix KB2661663 which should help on doing a cleanup. But if hasn't solved the problem.

Does anybody has a suggestion to why these TTF files comes from in the first place (Outlook, Adobe Reader, Word, etc) ?
Any solution to how you can get these file deleted when then System account has a lock on it?

Looking forward to some feedback :-)

Kind Regards

Hans Chr. Andersen
