have a situation whereby we have deployed a 2012 R2 RDS environment utilizing user profile disks.
Everything has been good so far, except I stored the UPD's on a share on the the DC, so I'm seeing intermittent AD issues due to the NIC on the DC being throttled.
I have deployed a new VM specifically for the purpose of holding the UPD's, however I don't know (and cant seem to find) a straight answer to whether or not I can just move these puppies and get away with it.
I assumed the process would be copy the .vhdx files from the source location to the destination, share the new location, then edit the collection settings in RDS changing the 'location' value under 'User Profile Disks', however nowhere seems to be able to tell me this with any degree of certainty.
I have read articles which suggested people have seen permissions errors and such like with UPD's which got me a bit itchy, as this is a production environment.
Any suggestions/advice appriciated.
I have a VM running Broker/gateway/RDWeb, which is working fine. I'd like to add RD Virtualization hosts for full desktop VDI. I have two servers in a cluster with shared fibre SAN storage, but I can't figure out how to point the RDS environment to use the cluster resource for the RD virtualization host. If I point the RDS set up to the cluster name/IP for the RD Virtualzation host, it fails. If I point it to the individual nodes of the cluster, it installed, but this is useless to me as their shared storage is only active on one node at a time.
How can I get both nodes with RD Virtualization Host roles installed to be clustered in such a way as to have the cluster itself (or a clustered resource) be available as the RD Virtualization host?

I am trying to setup RDP in Windows Server 2016 I have my licensing for 50 users what else I need to allow my server to authenticate users. The server is not allowing to connect via RDP session. No Per User License has been Issued when I see the Report. Please help!

I've got a customer with three licensing servers... WS2003, WS2008 and WS2012.
Recently they bought 20 CAL per device 2016 licenses. During activation proccess there was a mistake and those CAL where installed on WS2003 Licensing Server, instead of WS2008 server...
I've been trying to talk with Clearing House and tech support to remove those licenses from WS2003 licensing server... And no one knew how to do it...
The only solution they gave to me was migrating licenses from WS2003 to WS2008, but I guess that proccess migrates all the licenses, and you need to deactivate WS2003 server... That's not an option to this client....
Can anyone provide me some help?

this is a general question. I have a windows server 2012, running weblogic server on it. It is logged in as administrator and the weblogic application is running on the back. I want to give access to a user, to logged in with remote connection and the session will show 2 applications. The purpose of this is, i want a non administrator user, to be able to execute stop-server.ps1 which is terminating my weblogic server, and start-server.ps1 which is starting my weblogic server. Some times the weblogic server needs to be stopped (not forcefully, that's why i have a script for that), and start again since i will not always be able to do it my self. The user should not be able to interact with the server, but only execute this 2 scripts. How can this be achieved?

I have just installed an RDS solution for one of my customers, I am now in the process of creating a document outlining the schematics and infrastructure, basically what is RDS and how it works.
Is there any template that I can use that will help me create this document?

Our scenario is mac based and we use remote desktop to use windows applications we can't run on them.
There's one problem with printers <g class="gr_ gr_45 gr-alert gr_spell gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling" data-gr-id="45" id="45">though</g> on their remote desktop login, no one is able to set their own
user specific default printer.
You set the default and everything is working fine, till you log off then back on.. what will happen is the printer default is the first printer but then their printer has duplicates installations of it, you can tell this when you right click the printer
and it asks which printer you want to change i.e.
>samsung 1234
>samsung 1234
>samsung 1234
I then have to delete their local profile and get them to log back in again for it to go back to normal, their printer <g class="gr_ gr_32 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="32" id="32">is
then default</g> without multiple installations of the same printer, till they log out and back in.
I have even recreated their profile and given them a new one but it's still the same issue.
Any ideas? GPO is not set for any defaults etc
Might be worth mentioning that we have two servers for active directory logins of rds1 and rds2, it will split the users onto both servers to share the load. If one person is logged into rds1 then the server will redirect them to rds2. We have to delete both profiles on both servers, is there a link issue here because of the two profiles?

Help I got me Remote Desktop Database RDCms stuck in single_user mode and no matter what I do I cannot get it out. I even deleted everything and rebuilt and it always comes back in single_user mode.

In our environment, we have set a group policy setting from Domain Controller such that each users can have only a single RDP session to a terminal server.
But now we are having a requirement such as some users alone would need to have multiple RDP sessions for the same user account in the terminal server.
So could you please let me know if it's possible to implement the below in anyway.
1. To create a group policy setting, such that user's of a particular group can have multiple RDP sessions for his user ID in the server
2. All the remaining users should have a single RDP session access alone to the server.
Server OS: Windows server 2008 / 2008 R2

I hope someone can help me with this. Here's my setup :
- RDSH1 : Broker, Licence and Web Access server
- RDSH2 : Session Host server
- RDSH3 : Session Host server
- Internal domain : domain.intr
- External name : rds.something.ca
Our certificate is not a wildcard but it includes the "rds.something.ca" name. I tried using the "Set-RDPublishedName" script by entering the "rds.something.ca" name but i still had issues.
My question is about the DNS configuration needed to make this work. I already have a "rds.something.ca" DNS entry in a "something.ca" lookup zone that points to my Broker server. Do i need additional entries in this lookup zone for all the servers ? (ex. : "RDSH1.something.ca", "RDSH2.something.ca" and "RDSH3.something.ca").
And if so, do these need to be included in my certificate since it's not a wildcard ?

Can Licensing servers installed in the forest root be used from the subdomains (with two-way trust enabled)?
Say our forest root domain is local.net. We installed a pair of licensing servers, activated, and added required number of licenses. Can we use those servers from dev.local.net subdomain as well?
PS: Everything is under Windows 2012 R2.

I have a Windows 2003 Terminal Server server. Clients connects to it with RDP, to use Office applications and view PDF Files. The server has a number of different printer drivers installed. For example:
- HP Laserjet 500
- HP color Laserjet 200
- HP Universal Printer Driver PCL5.
And about ten more drivers.
Clients connect to server and have diferent printers, each with each driver. The problem is that, whatever model of printer the client has, with whatever driver it has installed, the mapped printer in the server takes the HP 500 Driver. So every single printer mapped in the server, is being mapped with the HP 500 driver, despite the server has installed the correct driver for all the printers.
How can I achieve that if I use in a client a printer which driver is installed on the server, the server maps the printer with the correct driver instead of the HP 500?
I have set up a standard 3 node 2012 R2 RDS for testing. All virtualized on VMware ESXi 5.0. I have a connection Broker, session host, and web access server. I have published several applications and I can access them without a problem. Here is my issue:
When I try to log on to my session host server either locally or thru RDP, I am always logged in with a Temporary profile. It does not mater what user account I use. Even logging on locally as the administrator I get a temporary profile.
All windows updates are installed and current.
I have removed the server from the domain, deleted the account, and rejoined it to the domain.
I have deleted all .bak registry entries from here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
There is a hotfix here for a similar issue on 2012 but it does not apply to 2012 R2
The only event viewer errors are:
1515 (Windows has backed up this user profile. Windows will automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on.)
1511 (Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.)
Any suggestions to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

I have Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit working as a Terminal Server and have problem when logging in.
When users log into the Terminal Server, the default login windows select the local computer instead of the domains. Every user must change from local computer to domain each time to log into the server.
Does anyone help me how to change it to always be the default domain choice ?
